INTRODUCTION

George Osborne, Chancellor of the Exchequer’s Emergency Budget of 22nd June, 2010 proposes the introduction of a number of monetary and fiscal measures which are intended to reduce the country’s £155 billion budget deficit. Some of these measures directly impact the Local Housing Allowance, that is, Housing Benefit paid to tenants of Private Landlords.
